After watching baseball at KT Wiz Park, we were feeling peckish and looking for somewhere to enjoy sashimi and a glass of soju. That brought us to Wooridongne Susan Sijang! On this visit, we tried the gizzard shad + flounder set. At the time, it cost KRW 45,000, and there was enough to leave both of us full.

The thick slices were lovely, but the eight pieces of flounder fin meat really stayed with us. Sitting beside an open window, we enjoyed a cool breeze and a view of KT Wiz Park—it was such a pleasant spot.
What we ordered | Thick-cut flounder, gizzard shad, and fried squid
They also served seasonal specials that were not easy to find in the Naver Map app menu!
Gizzard shad + flounder set for KRW 45,000
We ordered the gizzard shad + flounder set, which was a separately advertised seasonal offering rather than something we picked from the regular menu.

The portion was bigger than expected. For us, it was a filling meal for two, and we felt it would also work shared among three people.

The standout was eight slices of flounder fin meat! We loved getting more than we had at other places. The fin pieces had some thickness to them, and the sashimi was cut generously throughout, giving it a satisfying bite.
We also appreciated the layer of ice underneath the sashimi. It kept the fish cool as we ate, and we enjoyed its springy texture right to the end.

We dipped the fish in makjang, a savory fermented soybean paste, and wrapped it in leafy vegetables, or folded it into baekkimchi, mild white kimchi. Switching up the combinations made every bite fun.

Complimentary side dishes | Mussel soup, corn salad, and more
The generous spread included mussel soup, fried fish, corn salad, another salad, white kimchi, and leafy wrapping vegetables.

It was handy that the mussel soup could stay hot on the tabletop gas burner. Taking a sip of warm broth between bites of sashimi was a welcome touch.
Fried fish was tasty with a crisp coating, too. The salad had a slightly sweet dressing and a nutty powder resembling the roasted soybean powder used on injeolmi rice cakes, so we kept reaching for it. Makjang soybean paste, wasabi, garlic, and chili peppers were also provided, leaving us with plenty to pair with the fish.
There was a self-service station where we could help ourselves to the available side dishes and vegetables. We especially liked having plenty of leaves for wraps.

Fried squid with a crunchy coating and substantial pieces
As a side, we added fried squid to our order.

The outside was crisp and the inside tender, with substantial squid pieces that tasted great. The crunchy batter and squid's chew made a welcome change between mouthfuls of sashimi.

Atmosphere | Window seats overlooking KT Wiz Park
Next, let's look at the atmosphere and layout.
Wooridongne Susan Sijang has a layout spanning the first and second floors. The first floor mainly houses the tanks and fish preparation and takeout area, while dining is upstairs. Takeout customers seemed to collect their food mostly on the first floor.

The second floor felt bright and roomy. We did not count precisely, but there seemed to be around 15–20 four-person tables. There were also areas where tables could be joined to seat roughly 8–12 people, making it look suitable for family dinners or group meals.
We saw a mix of families, middle-aged diners, and younger guests. The interior felt comfortable for chatting over sashimi.
We particularly enjoyed our window seats. The weather was cool, so the windows were open, and KT Wiz Park was right in view.

Even though we were indoors, the breeze gave us the feeling of dining on an outdoor terrace. Outside, red sea bream, shrimp, and other seafood were moving actively in the tanks and caught our attention.

Facilities | Restrooms, smoking areas, and parking
Finally, let's go over the facilities at Wooridongne Susan Sijang!
Restrooms and smoking areas
The restrooms are inside the restaurant. You enter through a shared area, but the men's and women's facilities are separated inside.

To reach the smoking area, go to the back of the second-floor dining room and turn right toward a small door. Outside was an open-air staircase, like the restaurant's rear stairs.

There is also a smoking spot in the alley on the left when facing the restaurant from the first-floor entrance.

Dedicated parking and nearby lots
We did not personally confirm a dedicated restaurant parking lot during our visit. Online visitor information lists parking as unavailable.
One nearby option to check is the Jangan-gu Office parking lot. - Suwon Urban Development Corporation: Jangan Community Center parking guide
According to Suwon Urban Development Corporation, it operates around the clock, with
A standard fee of KRW 600 for the first 30 minutes, then KRW 300 for each additional 10 minutes
A daily parking pass costing KRW 7,000
—those are the listed rates!
Waiting for a table
We visited on a Saturday when KT played Lotte at KT Wiz Park. Even around the end of the game, between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, we could get a four-person table without a reservation.
It felt a little busier around 6:30–7:00 PM, so if you are coming with a group, it is worth checking in advance about adjacent tables and reservations!
Craving thick-cut sashimi and soju on a cool day? Wooridongne Susan Sijang in northern Suwon is a place we would recommend! We were happy with the gizzard shad and flounder portions, and especially remember the eight fin slices and the ice-lined platter.
If you are looking for somewhere near KT Wiz Park to share sashimi with family, friends, or your partner, keep this place in mind!
