Gangnam is full of office workers who want a quick meal on their own, and Mari Gimbap fits the bill perfectly.
Plenty of travelers visiting Korea stop by Mari Gimbap too!
(The women who run the shop can even speak Japanese.)

I've tried all the mini gimbap shops around Gangnam Station on my own little gimbap quest, and none has beaten Mari Gimbap >,,<
Other menu items
If you're craving something hot and brothy, try the ramyeon, rice noodles or fish cake soup too. 🍜
There are rice balls, boiled eggs, sikhye (sweet Korean rice drink) and plenty of other Korean snack-shop favorites, so do stop in!

Right in the heart of Gangnam
Where to find Mari Gimbap
The shop is on the central passage connecting the Shinbundang Line and Subway Line 2!
For the nearest Gangnam Station entrance, I suggest using Exit 1 or Exit 12.

Fast table turnover and an easy solo-dining atmosphere
The vibe
You'll see lots of office workers eating alone, along with international visitors!
One thoughtful touch I love is that the women at the shop can handle basic English and Japanese, and the ordering kiosk offers foreign-language options!
If you're visiting Korea and want to experience a friendly neighborhood snack shop, I recommend it. 💙
The wait
Lunch is naturally the busiest time, and there can be a crowd between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, but the staff serve and clear tables so quickly that seats open up in no time!
Even when every seat is taken, you'll usually be shown to a table after a wait of about five minutes at most!
Visit a few times and the women may even remember your face; it really is a warm, welcoming place. 🥰
Free fish cake broth and water
One lovely perk of Mari Gimbap is that even an order of just two mini rolls comes with free fish cake broth and water! What a bargain, right? Writing this makes me appreciate the place all over again.

For a quick lunch, tasty budget-friendly Korean street food, or a cozy taste of a local snack shop, be sure to visit Mari Gimbap at Gangnam Station! 🍙
