With cherry blossoms in full bloom these days, it seems like many people are going out for walks or dates to see them.
Jamsil is a place you can't miss when it comes to cherry blossoms! As the saying goes, people go to Seokchon Lake to see "crowds instead of flowers"... it's not easy to enjoy cherry blossoms comfortably in Jamsil.
As a former local resident, I've put together a summary of cherry blossom spots where you can actually see the flowers instead of just people. 🤗

Seokchon Lake Park: One week after peak bloom, visit for the night cherry blossoms.
Seokchon Lake is incredibly crowded during peak season. There's even a saying that once you enter, the crowd carries you along and you can't leave even if you want to—like a "Hell of Indolence" loop. The crowd is no joke.
Therefore, I think the BEST strategy is to visit relatively less crowded places during peak bloom, and then visit Seokchon Lake in the evening about a week after peak bloom (when petals start to fall). (The night cherry blossoms at Seokchon Lake are beautiful thanks to the lighting.)
Jamsil Jugong 5-danji Apartment Cherry Blossoms
The apartment complex you see right in front of Jamsil Station Exit 5 or 6 is Jamsil Jugong 5-danji.
We walked around the following course that day.
As you enter the apartment entrance, the cherry blossom road slowly comes into view!
Since the cherry blossoms are inside an apartment complex, it has an "urban cherry blossom" vibe... the apartment backdrop felt very nostalgic and warm.
The complex is huge, so as you keep walking,
the road of fully bloomed cherry blossoms finally reveals itself!!! It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the blossoms properly because it wasn't crowded.
And if you walk a bit further inside, you'll find the highlight spot. This is the U-turn point on the trail map above.
The sky is completely covered with cherry blossoms, making it a perfect place for photos! ☺️ There were a few more people here than at the apartment entrance.
Also, since there's a lawn in front of the apartment buildings, you could see people occasionally spreading out mats for a picnic. On nice days, you can often see people picnicking here.
Being a cherry blossom path within a residential complex, the overall atmosphere was calm, nostalgic, and warm.
Seongnaecheon (Seongnaecheon Walking Path) Cherry Blossoms
After passing Jugong 5-danji, we headed toward Jamsilnaru Station. Above Jamsilnaru Station lies the Seongnaecheon Walking Path.
This is the route we took that day!
The entrance welcomes you with forsythias and cherry blossoms. ☺️
If you take the side path on the right in the photo above, you'll find a straight cherry blossom road!
Most people walk on the main path to the left rather than this side road, making it a great place for photos and walking. The trail is about 1km long, so it was perfect for a post-meal stroll to digest while enjoying the view.
With Jamsil Parkrio Apartment across the way, walking along the Parkrio side allows you to see the entire cherry blossom view like this.
Note that the cherry blossoms at Seongnaecheon near Jamsilnaru Station bloom a bit late! I suspect it's because the Parkrio buildings block the sunlight. So, even if you visit 3 to 7 days after peak bloom in other areas, you'll likely still see them in full bloom.
Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossoms
This is a place you can't leave out when talking about Jamsil... honestly, I don't recommend visiting during peak bloom.
You might end up seeing only people instead of flowers. It's extremely crowded and you have to keep moving in one direction, so if your goal is to take photos and relax, it might be difficult. Restrooms are hard to access due to the crowd, and above all, if you miss your chance to exit, you might be stuck looping forever. 😅
So, I recommend visiting in the evening about a week after peak bloom to see the night cherry blossoms!!
Seokchon Lake Park has great lighting, so it's beautiful even when the blossoms have started to fall.
On the main street, you can see pale purple night cherry blossoms like in the photo below.
Even after a week, it's not exactly quiet. There are still security officers controlling the walking direction.
On Friday, April 10 (about 7 days after peak bloom), the main street had this much of a crowd.
There were quite a lot of foreigners as well.
However, the lake park side near Lotte World had very few people. Lotte World, which is doing a collaboration with MapleStory, looks pretty too!
Since quite a few blossoms remain, the unlit areas look like the photo below.
They say if you catch a falling cherry blossom petal, your wish will come true, so I quickly caught one. ☺️
With petals scattered on the ground, it felt even more atmospheric and beautiful.
Festival booths were still operating even a week after peak bloom! There were also food trucks, so you could fill your stomach if you get hungry while walking. 😋

Seokchon Lake is too crowded during peak bloom. → Visit Jamsil Jugong 5-danji and Seongnaecheon Walking Path instead.
Visit Seokchon Lake about a week after peak bloom in the evening to see the night cherry blossoms.
The cherry blossom season only lasts a few days a year! If you are considering going to Jamsil to see the blossoms, I highly recommend visiting Jamsil Jugong 5-danji Apartment and the Seongnaecheon Walking Path at Jamsilnaru Station too!
